FlightPath Blog Post 3 most
I am certain this is a piece that even people who don’t play or watch golf regularly enjoy. Similarly to how infrequent churchgoers will show up on Christmas Eve and Easter, infrequent followers of golf will have their TVs tuned for the four days of The Masters Tournament every April.
What I’m trying to say is, golfers and non-golfers alike, are aware of how exciting The Masters can be. It’s just something about that course at Augusta National and seeing the Green Jacket hug the newest victor that makes it so special to watch.
It is certainly a sight, and we have been given some fantastic finishes to The Masters throughout the years. Today, we will highlight the 3 most exciting finishes of the Masters from 2010-2019. There is a great chance you remember them.
1. 2012 Masters - Champion: Bubba Watson
At the conclusion of 72 holes at the 2012 Masters Tournament, Bubba Watson and 2011 champions, Louis Oosthuizen were deadlocked at 10 under par. This meant the duo would compete in a playoff. The crowd that day seemed to favor Bubba, and they desired to see him win his first major.
During the playoff, Watson and Oosthuizen both hit shots that were not pleasing. With his ball in the woods, and his path to green seeming to be entirely obstructed by trees, Bubba Watson delivered one of the most clutch shots in PGA Tour history. His shot did everything he wanted, it successfully found the clearing and landed right on the green, where he was able to 2-putt his way to victory.

2. 2013 Masters - Champion: Adam Scott
Just like in the 2012 Masters, the winner was unable to be decided after 72 holes. This time, it was Adam Scott from Australia against the 2009 Masters Champion, Angel Cabrera. The weather that day provided a fun feel to the final showdown: It was overcast and the clouds were accompanied by a light rain every so often and darkness surrounded the course.
In the playoff, both Cabrera and Scott exchanged great shots on hole 10 and found themselves on the green together to putt for birdie. Cabrera lined up his putt and gave a stroke that everyone thought was good. The ball decided otherwise and stayed right on the lip of the cup. In clutch fashion, Adam Scott stepped up and nailed his challenging putt in order to win his first major and claim the green jacket. That day, Adam Scott became the first Australian to be victorious at the Masters.

3. 2019 Masters - Champion: Tiger Woods
The 2019 Masters was one in which Tiger Woods was favored by quite a few golf analysts. Tiger competed in the 2018 Masters but it did not go his way as he finished the tournament a few shots behind the leaders. He then said that 2019 would be different. I believed him.
Heading into Sunday at Augusta in 2019, Tiger was in perfect position to reclaim that Green Jacket. He played a great round entirely and was in the best position to capture the title. He closed out in clutch fashion, and his return to glory was complete. Although it wasn’t quite a nail biting finish like in 2012 and 2013, it was so exciting just to see Tiger Woods complete his comeback to golf supremacy.
